High N, P and K rates applied for 15 years stimulated high yielding of a grassland and consequently led to gradual exhaustion of some microelements from soil. The contents of Cu, Zn and B in hay also decreased. The acidifying effect of high rates of NPK on soil led to a considerable increase of Mn in hay. Additional fertilization with Ca and Mg lowered Mn content in hay and increased that of Zn and Mo
