The experiments involved 2 variable factors in "split-plot" system. Examined was the effect of foliar application fertilizer with manganese, applied in 2 developmental stages, on the development and yielding of 5 field bean cultivars. Morphological features of the plants, yield of seeds and straw, content of protein, nutritive value as well efficiency of protein and oat units depended first of all on the genetic properties of the cultivars and to a lesser degree of feeding with manganese. The highest yields of seeds, straw and oat units were obtained from the Nadwislanski cultivar, which distinguished itself by the highest number of pods on a plant, seeds in a pod and height of plants. Feeding with manganese in the stage of 4-5 leaves exerted a favourable influence on the number of pods, yields of seeds and straw, content of total protein in seeds and straw as well as total efficiency of protein and units of a hectare
