Effect of fungicide, boron and minor elements on yield of white spear of asparagus (Asparagus officinalis Linn.)

Evaluation of chemical against (Cercospora asparagi Linn.) cercospora leaf spot disease was conducted in the field by 5 fungicides such as manzate-D, difolatan, benlate, sapnol and vitavax, on three varieties asparagus, U.C. 309, U.C. 500 and Mary Washington. Among these fungicide, manzate-D showed the best result followed by difolatan and benlate, respectively. Yield trial of three varieties asparagus U.C. 500, U.C. 390 and Mary Washington have shown no significant differences but U.C. 309 tended to be better than Mary Washington, U.C. 500, respectively. A study on the influence of borax and minor elements TONA on U.C. 309 variety. There were significant difference between the rate of borax used. The application of 4 kilogram of borax per rai gave the best number of spears and weight of spears but number and weight of cracked spears had no significant difference. The effect of borax tended to have less percentage of cracked spears than control, Yield trial between spray and no spray TONA showed no significant difference.
