Use of foliar fertilizers in tomato and Chinese cabbage
1987
Audthasit Wongmaneeroj
Foliar application of fertilizers significantly increased the growth of tomato and Chinese cabbage seedling, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium concentration in plant tissues. The fertilizer ratio 2:1:2 was most suitable for seedling establishment of both crops. The remarkable effects of different fertilizer ratios and concentration on growth, yield and chemical composition of tomato and Chinese cabbage was not observed. Foliar fertilizer application, however, produced higher fresh weight of tomato shoot and fruit number/plot than soil application. The considerable effects of urea spray on growth and yield of tomato and Chinese cabbage was also observed. The results on growth, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium concentration in tomato and Chinese cabbage was noted if the application were made every 5-7 days.
