Technology in corn planting : Case study of farmers in Changwat Pichit [Thailand] in 1985

The average age of the 125 farmers was 44.7 years. Most of them graduated at grade 4. About 26.8 rai per family planted for corn during the time. The average yield of corn per farm was about 458 kg/rai and each farm earned 18,099 baths from corn production. About 64.8 % of farmers belonged to member of the agricultural organization in the area. They kept in close contact with change agent in the area. The score rate for assigning the advance technology for corn planting was average to 58.22 out of 100. These was no significant differences between the independent variables: a) educational levels, b) farmer's organization membership status, and c) type of occupation, with the score of technology assigned for corn plantation. There was no relationship between the independent variables : a) aged, b) incomes and c) total area for corn plantation, with the score of technology assigned for corn plantation of the farmers.
