Cornstalk mechanical properties: The results of a research

The authors explain the results attained in an experimental consideration of mechanical and geometrical properties of FAO 400 and FAO 600 hybrids at different stages of ripeness. The second internode above ground and first internode under corncob have been the sections of the stalk under consideration. The samples have been exposed to bending load at three points, to pressure and to shearing. The values have been attained for characteristical dimensions, maximal load, coefficients of rigidity and for shearing work. Appropriate statistical analysis for all data has been done.
