Protein and protein fraction concentration was determined in 756 samples of blood serum from male Cigaja breed lambs, 35-65 kb body weight. Animals were divided into three groups, 12 animals each, which were all fed on 0,5 kg/head/day full forage mixture with the addition of 5.0% of molten urea plus fresh green pasture (control group), whole maize plant and kernel on the wax (group I) or alfalfa hay (group II) ad libitum. Sera were examined before, on the 14th day and at the end of the feeding experiment. The results have shown that the addition of molten urea into the concentrate produced no effect on the concentration of proteins and protein fractions in the blood serum, as all parameters examined were within normal physiological limits. Average concentrations in the control group and groups I and II were: 63.91-75.25 g/l proteins; 46.35-51.47% albumin; 5.14-5.76% alfa-globulin; 10.26-10.60% alfa-globulin; 12.20-13.18% beta-globulin, and 22.24-23.37% gamma globulin. The ratio A/6 averaged 0.75-1.06.
