The identification of native and introduced species utilized by Apis mellifera, as pollen sources, in sites of a national network, was carried out and the data were analized. This study was made from September 1988 to March 1989 in two sectors of the Subhumid Mediterranean Region. Samples of corbicular pollen gathered by bees were analyzed periodically by means of light microscopy and SEM. At the same time, an inventory of the local flora was made, and it was determined that over 60% are native species. A correlation was established between the species utilized by the bees and those available, and it was shown that bees make a preferential selection when collecting pollen. The flowering periods of the species were determiend, as well as the visits made by the bees to the flowers. A phenological shift between the two sectors was observed, that makes possible to move the hives from one to another place, based on previous studies
