A feeding trial was performed with three groups of pigs (10 per group) the weight from 25 to 110 kg. The group I was fed A1 and VUL mixtures prepared according to valid formulas, the group II - A1 and VUL mixtures with 2-3 % substitution of protein by wine lees, the group III - A1 and VUL feed mixtures with 2-3 % substituting of protein by cereal meal. Over the fattening period, groups I, II and III reached the average daily gain 0.633, 0.614, 0.658, resp. (P0.05), feed consumption per 1 kg of weight gain was 3.476, 3.647, 3.345 kg, resp. After finishing trial and slaughtering, dressing percentage and carcass traits were evaluated as well as meat, liver and bacon samples were analyzed. Results suggest that protein feed manufactured from wine lees may be used as a supplementary component in feed mixtures for fattening pigs. It has a high nitrogen content and essential amino acid pattern.
