Cucumber is one of very popular vegetable crops and much consumed by the people. It is easily planted under lowland and highland conditions. But, the average yield is still low because of low fruit setting percentage and low number of female flowers. Methylene blue is an indicator chemical may be able to stimulate more female flowers expression. In Russia this chemical is commonly used in in practice for increasing production in cucumber. In Indonesia this chemical has never been observed yet. In experiment of cucumber seed treatment with methylene blue was carried out at Cipaku, Bogor, on dry and rainy season 1987. Seeds were soaked at MB concentration of 0.04 percent, 0.06 percent and 0.09 percent for 12, 24, and 36 hours were applied. The result showed that the treatment had no significant effect on flowering time, fruit size, the percentage of fruit set, retarding the percentage of seed germination, germinating speed and harvesting time linearly. Fruits yield per plant was relatively increased up to 25,5 percent.
