Saliva and sera of 211 cattle consists of Bali, ongole (cross breed), local sahiwal and brahman breeds were collected from four districts in South Kalimantan. Saliva were analysed for Na and K content and sera were analysed for Ca, Mg and P content. The results indicated that 59.65 percent of cattle were found below critical level of Na/K ratio (1 Na/K ratio), 41.7 percent were below Ca normal level (8mg/100ml), 9.55 percent were below Mg normal level (1.8 mg/100ml) and 19.6 percent were below P normal level (4 mg/100ml). From the results can be concluded that sodium deficiency may still a problem in cattle in South Kalimantan.
