Influence of tillage system on maize

Four genotypes (Neelum, syn. 105, syn. 501, syn. R-8) and two tillage systems (no tillage and conventional tillage) were used to know the influence of the tillage system on grain yield and yield components of different genotypes of corn. The genotypes gave different responses while the two tillage systems did not show statistically significant difference in their effects especially on grain yield, the tillage X genotype interaction also did not show statistically significant difference in all characters in both seasons except leaf area plant number of grain/row and number of grain/ear in spring season and plant height and leaf area/plant in autumn season as a result, the no tillage seems to be promising system for corn in central Iraq
