The aim of this experiment is to investigate the relationship between water extract constituent in soil and growth of plant or quality of cut flower in chrysanthemum. 1) Compared with standard method, the amount of nitrogen with water extract in soil was one-half, and that of phosphate and potassium from water extract was a little. But the amount of water extract constituent and amount of applied fertilizer were correlated. 2) When slow release fertilizer was applied, water extract method was suitable to suppose soil nutrient, especially nitrogen. 3) Water extract method was effective to suppose soil nutrient during chrysanthemum cultivation. So, it is required to make diagnostic standard
