Effects of inoculation and nitrogen fertilization on the early growth and nodulation of Acacia auriculiformis Cunn. ex Benth, and Acacia mangium Willd. in Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines
1993
Ranes, B.P.
The early growth and developmental responses of Acacia auriculiformis Cunn. Ex. Benth and A. mangium Willd. as independently and interactively affected by Rhizobium inoculation and 5 levels of nitrogen fertilization was studied in two phases (nursery and outplanting experiment), under field condition. Different responses of the two study species in terms of height and diameter measurements, shoot, root, nodule and total biomass, nodule number, nutrient content and uptake were discussed. Inoculation with specific rhizobial strains independently effected similar positive responses for height and diameter measurements as well as shoot, root, and total biomass in the two study species but the presence of equally infective and effective strains among the native rhizobial populations for A. auriculiformis was observed
