Physiological response of cucumber seedlings to residual concentration of metolachlor in their nutrient solution
1991
Heuer, B. (Volcani Center, Bet Dagan (Israel). Inst. of Soils and Water)
Very low concentration of metolachlor, such as 1.75 x 10 sub (-7) M, considered to be non-toxic was found to inhibit vital processes in cucumber (Cucumis sativus) seedlings. Photosynthesis, leaf area and leaf conductance were reduced by 16 percent as compared with non-treated plants. Protein content remained unchanged, suggesting direct inhibition of the photosynthetic apparatus
