The study provides a method to evaluate techniques and technologies of harvesting green crops for hay and its utilization following 12 options of technologies. To this effect reference characteristics of quality, operation, energy and economy were used. As a result of the obtained values the most practical technologies were selected following a scale of qualities covering 10 basic characteristics. The results obtained are of considerable cognitive and utilitarian value since the proposed method of evaluation could be transferred to other techniques and technologies for the crop production. The results obtained are also useful to make recommendations and guides for better choice of energy saving machines to set up technological assemblies and to devise technologies of harvesting green crops for hay and its utilization in terms of acreage for given farms
