Allelic variation in loci encoding for L-lactate dehydrogenase (1.1.1.27) and creatine kinase (2.7.3.2) was found to differentiate the three species: bighead carp (Aristichthys nobilis Rich.), grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella Val.), and silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix Val.)
