The plants were grown in pots filled with sand: soil mixture fertilized with NPK and micronutrients. At the initial stages of growth triticale contained more micronutrients than wheat. The micronutrients were taken up at the highest rate from shooting to earing. Both cereals showed little difference in the distribution of micronutrients in the grain and other organs as related to their total amounts in plants. The grain of both species accumulated ca. 50 percent of the total amount of Cu and 70 percent of Fe
