Changes of Cs exp (137) content resulting from a nuclear power plant break down in Chernobyl recorded in some species of plant grown in the Leczynsko-Wlodawskie Lake District

Eight weeks after Chernobyl nuclear reactor accident (1986) the radiocontamination of cultivated plants slightly differed from the values of mean contamination of plant in Poland. Significant differentiation in capacity for accumulation of Cs exp (137) among particular species of plants was noted. The highest content was found in the tissues of winter rye while the lowest in white cabbage leaves. A rapid decline of Cs exp (137) content was observed in plants in 1987. This low level of contamination with slight deviations, maintained in the successive years
