Comparison of potato varieties

Fourteen potato varieties from the Netherlands and 3 varieties from the United States were compared at Tao-Hai village, San-Chray district in Chiang Mai during January to April, 1985. The comparison was done in RCB with 3 replications in order to determine growth, varietal identities and solid content in the tuber. There was no difference in yield among varieties tested which varied from 2.2-3.7 ton/rai. Three varieties from US had lowest yields which were 2.2-2.7 ton/rai. Solid contents in the tuber of all varieties tested varied from 16.4-20.1 %. Gold Rus from US and Morene from the Netherlands had highest solid content in the tuber
