Pale green to yellow green color symptoms of downy mildew of Panicum cambogiense leaves became brown at the tip when they aged. Numerous oospores were found on these senescence tissues. After the old plant died, the new diseased leaves emerged on the same clump. Cross inoculation on susceptible corn cultivar, CM109, gave 46.6 % systemic infection as compared with the standard corn pathogen which gave 77.7 %. It was concluded that this fungus resembled P. sorghi
