KTX 2602 was used as standard hybrid check. In early rain season all treatment showed no significant difference in yield but in late rain season KTX 2602 had a tendency to give higher yield. The experiment was conducted in 8 farmers' field. That untreated plot gave the lowest yield and the combination of N 4-8 kg. N/rai and P 5 kg P2O5/rai with or without K gave the highest yield. Furthermore we found that it is necessary to apply N and P in order to increase yield of corn which has grown in and around Suwan Farm. The basal application with 21-0-0 gave the lowest yield and the basal and top dressing of 21-0-0 was not different from basal application with 16-20-0. It could be concluded that to increase grain yield of corn 16-20-0 is better than 21-0-0. Anyway, the basal application with top dressing is more appreciated. Early rain season and late rain season are confirmed. However, with any method of application, the application of 8 kg. N/rai gave higher grain yield than 4 kg./rai. The pre-emergence herbicide like atrazine and alachlor were more effective than paraquat. Hand weeding and atrazine spraying plot tended to give higher yield than others treatments. Hand weeding followed by paraquat spraying was more effective than paraquat spraying or hand weeding only. KU.8501 and KU.8703 gave higher grain yield than KU.439 21 and 4 % respectively. Anyway, all improved pure lines gave higher grain yield than hegari (local cultivar) ranged from 9-69 % white hybrid showed 6-105 % higher than hegari. It could be concluded that hybrid gave higher yield potential than pure line.
