Direct and indirect effects of yield components in Corchorus capsularis, C. olitorius and their stable recombinants [in India]
1991
Biswas, P.K. (Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswa Vidyalaya, West Bengal (India))
Direct and indirect effects of six yield components of 50 strains, of which 20 white, 20 tossa and 10 stable interspecific hybrids have been worked out at both the phenotypic and genotypic levels of correlations. Plant height and stick yield contributed mostly towards fibre yield in white jute (C. capsularis) and recombinant types respectively. In tossa jute (C. olitorius) stick yield, nodes per plant and plant height would be the selection index for higher fibre yield.
