Rearing and colonization of predatory mites from Australia to control the citrus rust mite, Phyllocoptruta oleivora
1993
Argov, Y.
The citrus rust mite is one of the major pests of citrus in Israel. Over 70 of the groves are treated annually against the pest. To control the pest biologically, the phytoseiid predatory mites Euseius victoriensis, E. elinae and Amblyseius herbicolus, were imported from Australia. Rearing methods for these mites were developed and improved, and mass releases were conducted. Recovery of the mites in the orchards was recorded.
