Several types of antibiotic have been used to treat the high incidence of bovine mastitis in Indonesia. The improper usage of antibiotics have led to the presence of residue in the milk produced, which is available for human consumption. The withdrawal time of antibiotics should be taken into account to reduce the antibiotics residual problem. A study was conducted to evaluate the withdrawal time of oxytetracycline given to Friesian Holstein with mastitis. Oxytetracycline was administered during the lactation period at single dose rate of 20 mg/kg body weight i.m. The result suggested that 24 and 48 hours after dosing, the level of oxytetracycline in milk was still above the maximum residue limit recommended by WHO (0.1 ppm), The level was below the maximum residue limit at 72 hours after dosing (0.082 +- 0.014 ppm), and the residue was not detected at 8 days (192 hours) after dosing. The total unchanged oxytetracycline excreted in milk was very low, it was below 0.1 percent of the dose
