The experiment was conducted at Fang Research Station (FRS) from Nov 1992 to March 1993. Seed tubers of Fang 60 produced at FRS (lowland) and Doi Pou Muen (highland), and seed tubers of Spunta produced in Mae Fang and Chaiprakarn [Thailand] were used in the experiment. The tubers were placed in diffused light stores (DLS) for seven months in the highland and in the lowland, and in cold store (CS) for five months followed by two months storage in DLS. Results showed that the yield of Fang 60 using seeds stored in DLS for seven months, either in the lowland or in the highland, was comparable to that of tubers stored in CS-DLS combination. Likewise, the yield obtained using seeds produced in the lowland did not differ significantly from that of seed produced in the highland. The yield of Spunta produced in Mae Tang and Chaiprakarn was enhanced by storing the tubers in CS-DLS combination
