TPS [true potato seed] adaptation trial in Lembang [West Java]
1993
Sahat, S.
This experiment aimed to identify high yielding progenies with acceptable tuber quality. Randomized complete block design with three replications was used in the field trial. The progenies tested were CIP-986001, CIP-985003, HPS 2 x 67; HPS 1 x 67, 25/40 x OP-260, Lakshmi, Sita x 7xy.1, and Atzimba x R 128.6 (control). The result showed that there was very low bacterial wilt (BW) incidence in the trial field, and highlighted the disease-free advantage of TPS over tuber seed. Two progenies, 25/40 x OP-260- and Sita x 7xy.1, were not infected with BW. CIP-985003 and Sita x 7xy.1 showed a high resistance to late blight (P. infestans). CIP-985003, 25/40 x OP-260 and Lakshmi produced more tubers per plant and higher yield per plot. Tubers produced by these progenies were bigger than those produced by the control. Progeny CIP-985003 excelled among the eight progenies in terms of marketable yield
