Policies, issues in land use planning in RP [Republic of the Philippines]

This paper shows the relevance of land use planning in relation to the four interdependent crises: environment, population, food and energy the country is facing. To address these four crises there is the need to examine existing land use policy legislation; define the optional allocation of each of the major land uses in relation to land-use goals of the country based on the social, economic and environmental system. Likewise, the urgency of assessing the suitable uses of such areas and recognizing the importance of appropriate land stewardship system for the present human population in forest lands must be spelled out in such policy and legislation
