The paper deals with the state's protectionism and interventionism in agriculture. Special attention is paid to the methods of interventions and the modes of measuring its effects. The author gives some examples of interventions methods in OECD countries and costs of this intervention. Construction of a stable agricultural market in Poland necessitates coordination of agricultural policy with other elements of socio-economic policies. One of the most essential problems is that to ensure to domestic agriculture the indispensable protection against competition of the subsidized products from abroad
