The effect of nitrogen fertilization and manuring on changes of organic matter content and its fractional composition in a grey brown podzolic soil was studied during over 3-year crop rotation: potatoes, winter rye; 1, winter rye 2. It was found, that both manuring and mineral fertilization results the increase in organic matter content in soils. Nitrogen fertilization and manuring influenced the changes of soil organic matter fractional composition. The soil under manuring contained more fractions resistant to oxidation, which are the most stable forms of humus
