Effect of liming, farmyard manure and harvest date on the efficiency of nitrogen rates applied to sugar beets. Pt. 3. Correlation between the content of nutrients in seedlings or leaves and the size and processing quality of the sugar beet yield

Analysis of the correlation between the total N, N-NO3, P, K, Na, Ca, B, Mn and Zn content in seedlings or leaves taken from medium verticils in the period from July to October on the one hand and the height and processing quality of sugar beet yield on the other, was performed. A brake in the yield increment of roots and sugar in them at the content in dry matter of seedlings 4.0 percent of total N or 0.4 percent of N-NO3 and at that in leaves in July 2.5 percent of total N or 0.2 percent of N-NO3 has been found. The content of nitrogen and of the remaining elements in the plant parts analysed showed a rectilinear correlation with the yield of leaves and with the content in roots of molasseforming elements
