The load of foreign substances in vertical precipitation in the beech ecosystem Kovacova, Slovakia

The load of harmful substances on vertical precipitation was observed in the Research - Station Kovacova. 12 biostatistical characteristics were examined in 2 basic types of precipitation (water, snow). The assessment of the most significant anions NO3, SO4, Cl, F, and NH4 cations is presented. The results confirm that by vertical precipitation a considerable amount of bioelements and harmful substances penetrate the beech ecosystem. Nitrate nitrogen NO3 in rainfall water exceeds the acceptable limit of 6 mg.l-1 minimally by 1/4. Its share in snow is only 30 percent compared to its content in rainfall water.
