According to the observation on gears and boats of purse seine fishing in the Gulf of Thailand, Thai purse seine is divided into two by netting operated with or without purse line. Generally, the majority is one-boat purse seine with purse line. There are three ways of fish detection and collecting fish school, namely by eyes, luring light and fish aggregating device. When hauling net they use manual, boom and power block. At present the problem of purse seine fishing is the declination of natural pelagic fishes and lack of crew.
