Field research of birds in eastern part of Thailand

Field research of birds was undertaken during October 1983 to September 1984, at the seacoasts of Chonburi, Rayong, Chantaburi and Trat Provinces, in the eastern part of Thailand. One hundred and twelve (112) species of birds in 72 genera, 37 families, and 12 orders were recorded. They inhabit the study areas including the number of species of preference namely Avicennia forest (62), mudflat (44), Rhizophora forest (31), open country (27), open seacoast (16), sandy shore (12) and rocky seacoast (5) respectively.
