Results of the experiment indicated that water managements had no significant influence on yield of rice variety RD 23. However, the trend at which maintaining water level at 20 cm throughout the growing period will give the lowest yield compared with intermittent submergence or continuous submergence at lower level than 20 cm. Hence, growing this "HYV" (High Yielding Variety) does not need to maintain high water level throughout the growing period, intermittent and/or continuous submergence at low water level throughout the growing period not only save time but cost of production as well.
