In this study, the sulfate content in the seaweeds is removed by heating the seaweed with 2-5 % sodium hydroxide. Then the extraction was carried on at pH about 6.5, after the extracted agar was cleaned. Then, it was added the nutrient formular Vacine and Went for cultivation of the young orchid plants in comparing with the commercial agar. The measurements of the increasing weight were done in several periods of time. This extracted agar could be used as a medium for orchid cultivation.
