Preharvesting chemical treatments on vase-life of Chrysanthemum (Dendrathema grandiflora)

Chrysanthemum 'Luang Kaset' were sprayed by 25 ppm mepiquat chloride, 25 ppm paclobutrazol and 2500 ppm daminozide at 4, 5 and 6 times before harvest. The cut chrysanthemum were vased in tap water at room temperature (average 24.0 deg.celsius, 72 % R.H.). Mepiquat chloride 25 ppm sprayed 6 times gave cut chrysanthemum the longest vase-life of 17.08 days and improved the flower's quality, but was not statistically different from the control.
