Discusses the land use demand conflicts which occur when residential, commercial and tourism development take preference over the conservation of agricultural lands which are vital to the development of the sector as well as a source of livelihood for over 4000 farmers. Efforts to diversify the agricultural sector from a mono-cropping to a multi-cropping one has resulted in the strengthening of linkages with tourism plus the reduction of the food imports bill
