Effect of inoculum levels of potato virus Y (PVY) on yield and subsequent spread of the disease under insecticide spray and unsprayed condition [Bangladesh]

Hossain, M. | Ali, M.S. | Rashid, M.M.
The spread of potato virus Y and yield loss due to the disease as influenced by the level of inoculum was studied by planting varying per cents (0, 10, 20, 30) of infected tubers along with apparently healthy ones both under spraying (Dimecron - 1 ml/l) and non-spraying conditions. The inoculum level significantly influenced both spread of the disease and yield reduction, the effect being directly proportional although the difference between 0 and 10% inoculum was not clear. Spread of the disease was slightly lower under the condition of insecticide spray. Yield loss was slightly higher in Kufri Lalima than in Cardinal
