The studies carried out within the 1982-1987 period in 23 different places of the Northeastern Bulgaria show that the honey bee population density in second growth stands of alfalfa raised for seeds varies between 0 and 1340 bees per one decare at 10 a. m. The honey bee might be used for the purpose of alfalfa population only after carrying out necessary experiments for establishing the density at which its parallel work with the wild bees would be possible without causing any disturbance to their activity.
