Capital Investment Policy in Agriculture

This study presents a methodology for estimating the impacts of capital investment in Agriculture upon the total economy and specially on total Gross Product and Income, mainly for policy making reasons. Moreover, capital investment impact indices was proposed and an impact distributional technique was suggested. Ultimately, the developed methodology was applied on the Greek economy and the direct and indirect effects of the Capital investment in Agriculture for the years 1978 and 1983 was derived. The empitical analysis underscores the significance of the agricultural sector in the Greek economy and that capital investment in agriculture economic sectors considerably benefit from the capital investment in Agriculture economy. Policy makers should carefully consider the implications of any further investment reduction in Agricultural sector
