[Study of garlic plant breeding by the callus culture]

The study was conducted with aim at introducing callus from somatic cell of garlic, and at clarifying the tissue culture condition for the callus multiplication and plant differentiation in vitro. For obtaining the garlic callus, it was good to use under-part of young leaf or meristem as culture material. The most suitable medium was Ms medium and the rate of callus formation was the highest in the medium of meristem on which was added 2,4-D 2 mg/l, and in the medium of tissue of under-part of leaf; 2,4-D 2 mg/l + KT 1 mg/l
