'Masahime' is a mid-season maturing table peach cultivar, released by the Fruit Tree Research Station, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, in 1990. 'Masahime' was derived from the cross combination '21-18' x 'Akatsuki'. 'Masahime' should contribute to the improvement of the fruit quality of mid-season peaches. The trees are vigorous, spreading and fairly productive. Fruit development period of 'Masahime' is about 115 days. It matures 2 days later then 'Yoshihime', 10 days later than 'Hakuho', or 15 days earlier than 'Hakuto ' peach. The trees bear fairly large, round, attractive, red blushed fruits. The flesh is white with red pigment and juicy with a fine texture. The fruit quality of 'Masahime' is excellent, and it is recommended for commercial cultivation in the eastern districts of Japan where the yield of fruits with good appearance and high quality is high
