The fertility of the field soil in Guerrero Negro in regard to the three major nutrients (N, P, K) was investigated by growing table beet and cabbage continuously in the same plot where melon had been cultivated. They were grown under 5 conditions of applying the three nutrients (TN), no nutrients (NN), P and K (-N), K and N (-P), and N and P (-K). The -N treatment gave nearly the same growth of crops as the NN. The yields of both the treatments was far lower than those in other treatments. On the other hand, P and K fertility was still high in the third cultivation. The percentages in top and root weight of the -P to TN in table beet were 132 and 106 and those of the -K were 216 and 91. In cabbage, the percentage in head weight of the -P to TN was 78 and that of the -K was 141
