One papaya tree was examined and several items were measured (leaf length, width, fresh weight of fruit and dry weight of several organs). Results were analyzed based on Source-Sink relationship between leaf and fruit. Results were summarized as follows: 1.) Growth stage of leaves can be divided into following stages (a. leaf and peril development stage, b. peril elongation stage, c. growth stagnation stage, d. maturing stage 1, e. maturing stage 2, f. final stage); 2.) leaf and fruit of just above the root of leaf have source-sink relationship; 3.) the size of sink is determined by the number of fruits on each branch; 4.) at growth stagnation stage of leaf and peril, source and sink growth show competition; 5.) at maturing stage 1, fruit weight and leaf and peril weight show entirely negative relation; 6.) at maturing stage 2 and final stage, source size (leaf and peril weight) determine the sink size (fruit weight). Size of fruits itself is almost constant genetically, to get higher yield of papaya, the maintenance of fruit number of each branch is indispensable
