Milk samples from 78 cows and 57 caracows located around Metro Manila [Philippines] were collected daily for 20 days after parturition and examined for the presence of larvae. The Toxocara larva was found in the milk of three cows and four caracows while the Strongyloides larva, in seven cows and eight caracows. The toxocara larva generally appeared in the milk from the 2nd to 6th day of post-partum while the strongyloides larva occurred anywhere from the 2nd to the 17th day post-partum. Based on the present study, it is recommended that calves be dewormed once only at around two weeks of age with an anthelmintic effective against immature Toxocara vitulorum. The objectives of the present study are to determine the length of time the Toxocara and Strongyloides larvae are excreted through the milk and the prevalence of these parasitic diseases in cattle and carabaos
