Path coefficient analysis in estimation of relationship of some traits in cocksfoot (Dactylis glomerata L.)

Path analysis was applied for the data from biometric measurements and chemical analyses of 30 hybrids obtained from diallel crossing of 6 clons of cocksfoot. Direct and indirect effects were estimated for 7 traits determining dry weight yield for 4 traits determining digestibility of dry weight. It was stated that the yield of dry matter was affected by shoot weight, number of shoots and recover after cuttings in the decisive degree. Among analysed traits determining the digestibility of cocksfoot the strongest positive effect had the soluble sugar. The effect was higher than the correlation coefficient, however selected traits determining digestibility was unsatisfactory (high participation of rest variance)
