Influence of pruning time and the intensity of chemical control on health status of "Velvet" peach
1992
Bielenin, A. | Karczewski, J. (Instytut Sadownictwa i Kwiaciarstwa, Skierniewice (Poland))
Two programs of plants protection and two terms of pruning (in the spring and after harvest) of "Velvet" peach were investigated. Severe winter 1986/87 has injured the trees. In 1988 the most numerous canker injuries were observed on trunk and main branches. In 1989 the highest number of dead trees was recorded in combination consisting of spring pruning and limited chemical control. In both protecting programs the post harvest pruning provided better results than the spring pruning. Silver leaf disease appeared only on single trees but sharka (Prunus virus 7) infected as much as 44-60 percent of tested trees
