This paper is a brief presentation of some forms from the linseed collection of the Research Institute for Cereals and Industrial Crops - Fundulea, in 1993. Field observations and laboratory determinations according to UPOV descriptors were made on these forms (wild species, local populations and cultivars). These observations are: plant height, petals and anthers colour, filament colour to the top and style colour at base, corola size, sepals punctuation at the flowering time, longitudinal folding at the flowering time, boll size at maturity, ciliation of the bolls false septa, seed colour, beginning of the flowering (first flower open on 10 percent of plants) and also wilt resistance and mildew-powdery resistance. Thousand grain weight and the oil content were also determined in laboratory. This study allowed a better knowledge of this part of the linseed germplasm from ICCPT - Fundulea and also the finding of the sources which present some valuable characters for the breeding process such as: precocity, oil content, seed size and wilt and mildew-powder resistance. The best sources are or will be used, depending on the breeding process objectives, in the ICCPT - Fundulea breeding new linseed cultivars program.
