Decomposition of microcrystallic cellulose in the gray forest soil was studied. Cellulose was added with mineral nitrogen, C:N ratio in the substrate was equal to 6, 12 and 24. An increase of C:N ratio from 6 to 12 was found to alter degradation and mineralization rates of substrate added not significantly. The change of this ratio from 12 to 24 results in the slowering of cellulose degradation and increases carbon losses from the soil to 1.6 times
